  13. INTRODUCTION

  15. The Duke Nukem 3D Resolution Changer v1.2 is a program that allows you
  16. to run Duke Nukem 3D Shareware v1.3d in any resolution you want to just
  17. as long as your monitor and video card can support that mode.
  18.  
  19. PROGRAM USAGE
  20.  
  21. To use this program successfully, place it into your Duke Nukem 3D
  22. directory (Example: C:\DUKE3D)  Run the EXE called DUKERES.EXE.
  23. You will then be prompted to enter the width and the height that
  24. you want Duke Nukem 3D to be displayed in.  The following is a list
  25. of common display modes that should work with Duke Nukem 3D:
  26.  
  27. Width x Height
  28.  
  29. 320 x 200
  30. 320 x 240
  31. 320 x 400
  32. 640 x 480
  33. 800 x 600
  34. 1024 x 768
  35. 1600 x 1200
  36.  
  37. Please note that these are not the only modes that are supported.  You
  38. can specify whatever dimensions you want.  It's up to your monitor and
  39. video card to allow other modes to work.  So experiment!  Ok, after
  40. you've entered the screen width and height, you will be prompted if you
  41. want VESA support to be used.  Choosing yes is recommended if you choose
  42. a video mode higher than 320 x 240.  That's it!  Now run Duke Nukem 3D
  43. and experience Duke in a whole new way, with good graphics!

  46. WHAT'S NEW IN v1.2
  47.  
  48. 1.  Program does not have to be run off of the D: anymore as it did
  49.     in v1.1.  So now this program will actually work for everyone
  50.     who has v1.3d.
  51. 2.  Error trapping has been added.
  52.  
  53. TROUBLESHOOTING
  54.  
  55. When you run Duke Nukem 3D, if it says VESA does not support the mode
  56. specified, then probably your video card does not support that mode.
  57. Run DUKERES.EXE again and then choose one of the common video modes
  58. specified above.  If you still receive an error, then maybe you need
  59. to load a VESA driver such as UNIVBE.EXE.  This driver is available
  60. for download on major online services and the Internet.  If all else
  61. fails, delete your DUKE3D.CFG and run SETUP.EXE again to configure
  62. Duke Nukem 3D for your system.
